III. classis
Tempora: Feria VI infra Hebdomadam I post Epiphaniam
1. O God of truth, O Lord of might, Who orderest time and change aright, Who send’st the early morning ray, And light’st the glow of perfect day: 2. Extinguish thou each sinful fire, And banish every ill desire; And while thou keep’st the body whole, Shed forth thy peace upon the soul. 3. Almighty Father, hear our cry, Through Jesus Christ, our Lord most High, Who, with the Holy Ghost and thee, Doth live and reign eternally. Amen.
Blessed are they * that dwell in thy house, O Lord.
How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! * my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord.
My heart and my flesh * have rejoiced in the living God.
For the sparrow hath found herself a house, * and the turtledove a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones:
Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, * my king and my God.
Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: * they shall praise thee for ever and ever.
Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: * in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps, in the vale of tears, in the place which he hath set.
For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: * the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: * give ear, O God of Jacob.
Behold, O God our protector: * and look on the face of thy Christ.
For better is one day in thy courts * above thousands.
I have chosen to be an abject in the house of my God, * rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners.
For God loveth mercy and truth: * the Lord will give grace and glory.
He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence: * O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
The foundations thereof are in the holy mountains: * The Lord loveth the gates of Sion above all the tabernacles of Jacob.
Glorious things are said of thee, * O city of God.
I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon * knowing me.
Behold the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians, * these were there.
Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? * and the Highest himself hath founded her.
The Lord shall tell in his writings of peoples and of princes, * of them that have been in her.
The dwelling in thee * is as it were of all rejoicing.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed are they * that dwell in thy house, O Lord.
Cibávit illum pane vitæ et intelléctus, † et aqua sapiéntiæ salutáris potávit illum Dóminus Deus noster.
With the bread of life and understanding, she shall feed him, and give him the water of wholesome wisdom to drink; God, our Lord.
O Lord, we pray thee, mercifully give ear unto the prayers of thy people who rejoice at the memory of the victory through suffering of thy blessed Martyr and Bishop Marcellus, and for his sake succour us.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
