Incipit

Invitatorium

The Lord is risen indeed. * Alleluia.

Hymnus

1. O thou, the heavens' eternal King, Creator, unto thee we sing, With God the Father ever One, Co-equal, co-eternal Son. 2. Thy hand, when first the world began, Made in thine own pure image man, And linked to Adam, sprung from earth, A living soul of heavenly birth. 3. And when by craft the envious foe Had marred thy noblest work below, Clothed in our flesh, thou didst restore The image thou hadst made before. 4. Once wast thou born of Mary's womb; And now, new-born from out the tomb, O Christ, thou bidd'st us rise with thee From death to immortality. 5. Eternal Shepherd, thou dost lave Thy flock in pure baptismal wave, That mystic bath, that grave of sin, Where ransomed souls new life begin. 6. Redeemer, thou for us didst deign To hang upon the Cross of pain, And give for us the lavish price Of thine own blood in sacrifice. 7. Grant, Lord, in thee each faithful mind Unceasing paschal joy may find; And from the death of sin set free Souls newly born to life by thee. 8. To thee, once dead, who now dost live, All glory, Lord, thy people give, Whom, with the Father, we adore, And Holy Ghost forevermore. Amen.

Nocturnus I

Psalmus 13

The fool hath said in his heart: * there is no God.

  2. They are corrupt, and are become abominable in their ways: * there is none that doth good, no not one.

  4. The Lord hath looked down from heaven upon the children of men, * to see if there be any that understand and seek God.

  6. They are all gone aside, they are become unprofitable together: * there is none that doth good: no not one.

  7. Sepúlcrum patens est guttur eórum: linguis suis dolóse abant * venénum áspidum sub lábiis eórum.
  8. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they acted deceitfully: * the poison of asps is under their lips.

  10. Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; * their feet are swift to shed blood.

  12. Destruction and unhappiness in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: * there is no fear of God before their eyes.

  13. Nonne cognóscent omnes qui operántur iniquitem, * qui dévorant plebem meam sicut escam panis?
  14. Shall not all they know that work iniquity, * who devour my people as they eat bread?

  15. Dóminum non invocarunt, * illic trepidavérunt timóre, ubi non erat timor.
  16. They have not called upon the Lord: * there have they trembled for fear, where there was no fear.

  17. Quóniam Dóminus in generatióne justa est, consílium ínopis confudístis: * quóniam Dóminus spes ejus est.
  18. For the Lord is in the just generation: you have confounded the counsel of the poor man; * but the Lord is his hope.

  20. Who shall give out of Sion the salvation of Israel? * when the Lord shall have turned away the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

  21. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  22. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  23. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
  24. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalmus 14

Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle? * or who shall rest in thy holy hill?

  1. Qui ingréditur sine cula, * et operátur justiam:
  2. He that walketh without blemish, * and worketh justice:

  4. He that speaketh truth in his heart, * who hath not used deceit in his tongue:

  6. Nor hath done evil to his neighbour: * nor taken up a reproach against his neighbours.

  8. In his sight the malignant is brought to nothing: * but he glorifieth them that fear the Lord:

  10. He that sweareth to his neighbour, and deceiveth not; * He that hath not put out his money to usury, nor taken bribes against the innocent:

  11. Qui facit hæc: * non movébitur in ætérnum.
  12. He that doth these things, * shall not be moved for ever.

  13. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  14. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  15. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
  16. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalmus 16

Hear, O Lord, my justice: * attend to my supplication.

  1. Auribus pércipe oratiónem meam, * non in lábiis dosis.
  2. Give ear unto my prayer, * which proceedeth not from deceitful lips.

  3. De vultu tuo judícium meum pródeat: * óculi tui vídeant æquites.
  4. Let my judgment come forth from thy countenance: * let thy eyes behold the things that are equitable.

  5. Probásti cor meum, et visitásti nocte: * igne me examinásti, et non est invénta in me iníquitas.
  6. Thou hast proved my heart, and visited it by night, * thou hast tried me by fire: and iniquity hath not been found in me.

  7. Ut non loquátur os meum ópera minum: * propter verba labiórum tuórum ego custodívi vias duras.
  8. That my mouth may not speak the works of men: * for the sake of the words of thy lips, I have kept hard ways.

  10. Perfect thou my goings in thy paths: * that my footsteps be not moved.

  11. Ego clamávi, quóniam exaudísti me, Deus: * inclína aurem tuam mihi, et exáudi verba mea.
  12. I have cried to thee, for thou, O God, hast heard me: * O incline thy ear unto me, and hear my words.

  13. Mirífica misericórdias tuas, * qui salvos facis sperántes in te.
  14. Shew forth thy wonderful mercies; * thou who savest them that trust in thee.

  15. A resisténtibus déxteræ tuæ cusdi me, * ut pupíllam óculi.
  16. From them that resist thy right hand keep me, * as the apple of thy eye.

  17. Sub umbra alárum tuárum prótege me: * a fácie impiórum qui me afflirunt.
  18. Protect me under the shadow of thy wings. * from the face of the wicked who have afflicted me.

  19. Inimíci mei ánimam meam circumdedérunt, ádipem suum conclurunt: * os eórum locútum est supérbiam.
  20. My enemies have surrounded my soul: They have shut up their fat: * their mouth hath spoken proudly.

  21. Projiciéntes me nunc circumderunt me: * óculos suos statuérunt declináre in terram.
  22. They have cast me forth, and now they have surrounded me: * they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth.

  23. Suscepérunt me sicut leo parátus ad prædam: * et sicut cátulus leónis hábitans in ábditis.
  24. They have taken me, as a lion prepared for the prey; * and as a young lion dwelling in secret places.

  26. Arise, O Lord, disappoint him and supplant him; * deliver my soul from the wicked one; thy sword from the enemies of thy hand.

  28. O Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life: * their belly is filled from thy hidden stores.

  30. They are full of children: * and they have left to their little ones the rest of their substance.

  32. But as for me, I will appear before thy sight in justice: * I shall be satisfied when thy glory shall appear.

  33. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  34. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  35. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
  36. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalmus 17 (2,16)

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength: * The Lord is my firmament, my refuge, and my deliverer.

  1. Deus meus adjútor meus, * et sperábo in eum.
  2. My God is my helper, * and in him will I put my trust.

  3. Protéctor meus, et cornu salútis meæ, * et suscéptor meus.
  4. My protector, and the horn of my salvation, * and my support.

  6. Praising, I will call upon the Lord: * and I shall be saved from my enemies.

  7. Circumdedérunt me dolóres mortis: * et torréntes iniquitátis conturbarunt me.
  8. The sorrows of death surrounded me: * and the torrents of iniquity troubled me.

  9. Dolóres inférni circumderunt me: * præoccupavérunt me láquei mortis.
  10. The sorrows of hell encompassed me: * and the snares of death prevented me.

  12. In my affliction I called upon the Lord, * and I cried to my God:

  13. Et exaudívit de templo sancto suo vocem meam: * et clamor meus in conspéctu ejus, introívit in aures ejus.
  14. And he heard my voice from his holy temple: * and my cry before him came into his ears.

  16. The earth shook and trembled: * the foundations of the mountains were troubled and were moved, because he was angry with them.

  18. There went up a smoke in his wrath: and a fire flamed from his face: * coals were kindled by it.

  19. Inclinávit cælos, et descéndit: * et calígo sub pédibus ejus.
  20. He bowed the heavens, and came down, * and darkness was under his feet.

  21. Et ascéndit super Chérubim, et vovit: * volávit super pennas venrum.
  22. And he ascended upon the cherubim, and he flew; * he flew upon the wings of the winds.

  23. Et pósuit ténebras latíbulum suum, in circúitu ejus tabernáculum ejus: * tenebrósa aqua in núbibus áëris.
  24. And he made darkness his covert, his pavilion round about him: * dark waters in the clouds of the air.

  25. Præ fulgóre in conspéctu ejus nubes transiérunt, * grando et carbónes ignis.
  26. At the brightness that was before him the clouds passed, * hail and coals of fire.

  28. And the Lord thundered from heaven, * and the Highest gave his voice: * hail and coals of fire.

  29. Et misit sagíttas suas, et dissipávit eos: * fúlgura multiplicávit, et conturbávit eos.
  30. And he sent forth his arrows, and he scattered them: * he multiplied lightnings, and troubled them.

  32. Then the fountains of waters appeared, * and the foundations of the world were discovered:

  33. Ab increpatióne tua, mine, * ab inspiratióne spíritus i tuæ.
  34. At thy rebuke, O Lord, * at the blast of the spirit of thy wrath.

  35. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  36. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  37. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
  38. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalmus 17 (17,35)

He sent from on high, and took me: * and received me out of many waters.

  1. Erípuit me de inimícis meis fortíssimis, et ab his qui orunt me: * quóniam confortáti sunt super me.
  2. He delivered me from my strongest enemies, and from them that hated me: * for they were too strong for me.

  3. Prævenérunt me in die afflictiónis meæ: * et factus est Dóminus protéctor meus.
  4. They prevented me in the day of my affliction: * and the Lord became my protector.

  5. Et edúxit me in latidinem: * salvum me fecit, quóniam vóluit me.
  6. And he brought me forth into a large place: * he saved me, because he was well pleased with me.

  7. Et retríbuet mihi Dóminus secúndum justítiam meam: * et secúndum puritátem mánuum meárum retríbuet mihi:
  8. And the Lord will reward me according to my justice; * and will repay me according to the cleanness of my hands:

  9. Quia custodívi vias mini, * nec ímpie gessi a Deo meo.
  10. Because I have kept the ways of the Lord; * and have not done wickedly against my God.

  11. Quóniam ómnia judícia ejus in conspéctu meo: * et justítias ejus non répuli a me.
  12. For all his judgments are in my sight: * and his justices I have not put away from me.

  14. And I shall be spotless with him: * and shall keep myself from my iniquity.

  15. Et retríbuet mihi Dóminus secúndum justítiam meam: * et secúndum puritátem mánuum meárum in conspéctu oculórum ejus.
  16. And the Lord will reward me according to my justice: * and according to the cleanness of my hands before his eyes.

  18. With the holy thou wilt be holy; * and with the innocent man thou wilt be innocent:

  20. And with the elect thou wilt be elect: * and with the perverse thou wilt be perverted.

  21. Quóniam tu pópulum húmilem salvum cies: * et óculos superbórum humiliábis.
  22. For thou wilt save the humble people; * but wilt bring down the eyes of the proud.

  23. Quóniam tu illúminas lucérnam meam, mine: * Deus meus, illúmina ténebras meas.
  24. For thou lightest my lamp, O Lord: * O my God, enlighten my darkness.

  25. Quóniam in te erípiar a tentatióne, * et in Deo meo transgrédiar murum.
  26. For by thee I shall be delivered from temptation; * and through my God I shall go over a wall.

  27. Deus meus, impollúta via ejus: elóquia Dómini igne examita: * protéctor est ómnium sperántium in se.
  28. As for my God, his way is undefiled: the words of the Lord are fire-tried: * he is the protector of all that trust in him.

  29. Quóniam quis Deus præter minum? * aut quis Deus præter Deum nostrum?
  30. For who is God but the Lord? * or who is God but our God?

  31. Deus, qui præcínxit me virte: * et pósuit immaculátam viam meam.
  32. God, who hath girt me with strength; * and made my way blameless.

  33. Qui perfécit pedes meos tamquam cerrum, * et super excélsa státuens me.
  34. Who hath made my feet like the feet of harts: * and who setteth me upon high places.

  36. Who teacheth my hands to war: * and thou hast made my arms like a brazen bow.

  37. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  38. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  39. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
  40. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalmus 17 (36,51)

Thou hast given me the protection of thy salvation: * and thy right hand hath held me up:

  1. Et disciplína tua corréxit me in finem: * et disciplína tua ipsa me dobit.
  2. And thy discipline hath corrected me unto the end: * and thy discipline, the same shall teach me.

  4. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; * and my feet are not weakened.

  6. I will pursue after my enemies, and overtake them: * and I will not turn again till they are consumed.

  7. Confríngam illos, nec póterunt stare: * cadent subtus pedes meos.
  8. I will break them, and they shall not be able to stand: * they shall fall under my feet.

  9. Et præcinxísti me virtúte ad bellum: * et supplantásti insurgéntes in me subtus me.
  10. And thou hast girded me with strength unto battle; * and hast subdued under me them that rose up against me.

  11. Et inimícos meos dedísti mihi dorsum, * et odiéntes me disperdidísti.
  12. And thou hast made my enemies turn their back upon me, * and hast destroyed them that hated me.

  14. They cried, but there was none to save them, to the Lord: * but he heard them not.

  16. And I shall beat them as small as the dust before the wind; * I shall bring them to nought, like the dirt in the streets.

  17. Erípies me de contradictiónibus puli: * constítues me in caput géntium.
  18. Thou wilt deliver me from the contradictions of the people; * thou wilt make me head of the Gentiles.

  19. Pópulus quem non cognóvi servívit mihi: * in audítu auris obedívit mihi.
  20. A people which I knew not, hath served me: * at the hearing of the ear they have obeyed me.

  22. The children that are strangers have lied to me, * strange children have faded away, and have halted from their paths.

  23. Vivit Dóminus, et benedíctus Deus meus: * et exaltétur Deus salútis meæ.
  24. The Lord liveth, and blessed be my God, * and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

  26. O God, who avengest me, and subduest the people under me, * my deliverer from my enraged enemies.

  27. Et ab insurgéntibus in me exalbis me: * a viro iníquo erípies me.
  28. And thou wilt lift me up above them that rise up against me: * from the unjust man thou wilt deliver me.

  29. Proptérea confitébor tibi in natiónibus, mine: * et nómini tuo psalmum dicam.
  30. Therefore will I give glory to thee, O Lord, among the nations, * and I will sing a psalm to thy name.

  31. Magníficans salútes Regis ejus, et fáciens misericórdiam Christo suo David: * et sémini ejus usque in culum.

Amen.

Psalmus 19

May the Lord hear thee in the day of tribulation: * may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee.

  2. May he send thee help from the sanctuary: * and defend thee out of Sion.

  4. May he be mindful of all thy sacrifices: * and may thy whole burnt offering be made fat.

  5. Tríbuat tibi secúndum cor tuum: * et omne consílium tuum confírmet.
  6. May he give thee according to thy own heart; * and confirm all thy counsels.

  7. Lætábimur in salutári tuo: * et in nómine Dei nostri magnifibimur.
  8. We will rejoice in thy salvation; * and in the name of our God we shall be exalted.

  9. Impleat Dóminus omnes petitiónes tuas: * nunc cognóvi quóniam salvum fecit Dóminus Christum suum.
  10. The Lord fulfil all thy petitions: * now have I known that the Lord hath saved his anointed.

  11. Exáudiet illum de cælo sancto suo: * in potentátibus salus déxte ejus.
  12. He will hear him from his holy heaven: * the salvation of his right hand is in powers.

  13. Hi in cúrribus, et hi in equis: * nos autem in nómine Dómini, Dei nostri invobimus.
  14. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: * but we will call upon the name of the Lord, our God.

  16. They are bound, and have fallen: * but we are risen, and are set upright.

  18. O Lord, save the king: * and hear us in the day that we shall call upon thee.

  19. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  20. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  2. Thou hast given him his heart’s desire: * and hast not withholden from him the will of his lips.

  3. Quóniam prævenísti eum in benedictiónibus duldinis: * posuísti in cápite ejus corónam de lápide pretióso.
  4. For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: * thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones.

  5. Vitam pétiit a te: * et tribuísti ei longitúdinem diérum in sǽculum, et in sǽculum culi.
  6. He asked life of thee: * and thou hast given him length of days for ever and ever.

  7. Magna est glória ejus in salutári tuo: * glóriam et magnum decórem impónes super eum.
  8. His glory is great in thy salvation: * glory and great beauty shalt thou lay upon him.

  9. Quóniam dabis eum in benedictiónem in sǽculum culi: * lætificábis eum in gáudio cum vultu tuo.
  10. For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: * thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.

  12. For the king hopeth in the Lord: * and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

  13. Inveniátur manus tua ómnibus inimícis tuis: * déxtera tua invéniat omnes, qui te orunt.
  14. Let thy hand be found by all thy enemies: * let thy right hand find out all them that hate thee.

  15. Pones eos ut clíbanum ignis in témpore vultus tui: * Dóminus in ira sua conturbábit eos, et devorábit eos ignis.
  16. Thou shalt make them as an oven of fire, * in the time of thy anger: the Lord shall trouble them in his wrath, and fire shall devour them.

  18. Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth: * and their seed from among the children of men.

  19. Quóniam declinavérunt in te mala: * cogitavérunt consília, quæ non potuérunt stabire.
  20. For they have intended evils against thee: * they have devised counsels which they have not been able to establish.

  21. Quóniam pones eos dorsum: * in relíquiis tuis præparábis vultum eórum.
  22. For thou shalt make them turn their back: * in thy remnants thou shalt prepare their face.

  23. Exaltáre, Dómine, in virtúte tua: * cantábimus et psallémus virtútes tuas.
  24. Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy own strength: * we will sing and praise thy power.

  25. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  26. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  2. O Lord my God, I have cried to thee, * and thou hast healed me.

  3. Dómine, eduxísti ab inférno ánimam meam: * salvásti me a descendéntibus in lacum.
  4. Thou hast brought forth, O Lord, my soul from hell: * thou hast saved me from them that go down into the pit.

  5. Psállite Dómino, sancti ejus: * et confitémini memóriæ sanctitátis ejus.
  6. Sing to the Lord, O ye his saints: * and give praise to the memory of his holiness.

  7. Quóniam ira in indignatióne ejus: * et vita in voluntáte ejus.
  8. For wrath is in his indignation; * and life in his good will.

  10. In the evening weeping shall have place, * and in the morning gladness.

  11. Ego autem dixi in abundántia mea: * Non movébor in ætérnum.
  12. And in my abundance I said: * I shall never be moved.

  13. Dómine, in voluntáte tua, * præstitísti decóri meo virtem.
  14. O Lord, in thy favour, * thou gavest strength to my beauty.

  15. Avertísti fáciem tuam a me, * et factus sum conturtus.
  16. Thou turnedst away thy face from me, * and I became troubled.

  18. To thee, O Lord, will I cry: * and I will make supplication to my God.

  19. Quæ utílitas in sánguine meo, * dum descéndo in corruptiónem?
  20. What profit is there in my blood, * whilst I go down to corruption?

  21. Numquid confitébitur tibi pulvis, * aut annuntiábit veritátem tuam?
  22. Shall dust confess to thee, * or declare thy truth?

  24. The Lord hath heard, and hath had mercy on me: * the Lord became my helper.

  25. Convertísti planctum meum in gáudium mihi: * conscidísti saccum meum, et circumdedísti me tia:
  26. Thou hast turned for me my mourning into joy: * thou hast cut my sackcloth, and hast compassed me with gladness:

  28. To the end that my glory may sing to thee, and I may not regret: * O Lord my God, I will give praise to thee for ever.

  29. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto.
  30. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.

  31. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
  32. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Pater

Pater noster, qui es in cælis, sanctificétur nomen tuum: advéniat regnum tuum: fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra. Panem nostrum cotidiánum da nobis hódie: et dimítte nobis débita nostra, sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris:

℣. Et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem:
℟. Sed líbera nos a malo.

Absolutio.

But there arose some of the sect of the Pharisees that believed, saying: They must be circumcised, and be commanded to observe the law of Moses. And the apostles and ancients assembled to consider of this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter, rising up, said to them: Men, brethren, you know, that in former days God made choice among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, who knoweth the hearts, gave testimony, giving unto them the Holy Ghost, as well as to us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore, why tempt you God to put a yoke upon the necks of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we believe to be saved, in like manner as they also. And all the multitude held their peace; and they heard Barnabas and Paul telling what great signs and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them

Benedictio:

Unigénitus Dei Fílius nos benedícere et adiuváre dignétur.

Lectio 2
Act. 15:13-21

Et postquam tacuérunt, respóndit Iacóbus, dicens: Viri fratres, audíte me.

And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying: Men, brethren, hear me. Simon hath related how God first visited to take of the Gentiles a people to his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets, as it is written: After these things I will return, and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and the ruins thereof I will rebuild, and I will set it up: That the residue of men may seek after the Lord, and all nations upon whom my name is invoked, saith the Lord, who doth these things. To the Lord was his own work known from the beginning of the world. For which cause I judge that they, who from among the Gentiles are converted to God, are not to be disquieted. But that we write unto them, that they refrain themselves from the pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him in the synagogues, where he is read every sabbath.

Gloria adduntur:
Benedictio:

Spíritus Sancti grátia illúminet sensus et corda nostra.

Lectio 3
Act. 15:22-29

Then it pleased the apostles and ancients, with the whole church, to choose men of their own company, and to send to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas, who was surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren. Writing by their hands: The apostles and ancients, brethren, to the brethren of the Gentiles that are at Antioch, and in Syria and Cilicia, greeting. Forasmuch as we have heard, that some going out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls; to whom we gave no commandment: It hath seemed good to us, being assembled together, to choose out men, and to send them unto you, with our well beloved Barnabas and Paul: Men that have given their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves also will, by word of mouth, tell you the same things. For it hath seemed good to the Holy Ghost and to us, to lay no further burden upon you than these necessary things: That you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication; from which things keeping yourselves, you shall do well. Fare ye well.

Reliqua omittuntur, nisi Laudes separandæ sint.

Oratio

O God, Whose Son hath humbled Himself, and Who hast through Him raised up the whole world, grant to thy faithful people everlasting joy; and as Thou hast delivered them from the bitter pains of eternal death, make them to be glad for ever in thy presence.
Through the same Jesus Christ, thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
