1. O God of truth, O Lord of might, Who orderest time and change aright, Who send’st the early morning ray, And light’st the glow of perfect day: 2. Extinguish thou each sinful fire, And banish every ill desire; And while thou keep’st the body whole, Shed forth thy peace upon the soul. 3. Almighty Father, hear our cry, Through Jesus Christ, our Lord most High, Who, with the Holy Ghost and thee, Doth live and reign eternally. Amen.

Psalmus 103 (1,12)

Bless the Lord, O my soul: * O Lord my God, thou art exceedingly great.

  1. Confessiónem, et decórem induísti: * amíctus lúmine sicut vestiménto.

    2. Thou hast put on praise and beauty: * and art clothed with light as with a garment.

  2. Exténdens cælum sicut pellem: * qui tegis aquis superióra ejus.

    3. Who stretchest out the heaven like a pavilion: * who coverest the higher rooms thereof with water.

How great are thy works, O Lord? * thou hast made all things in wisdom: the earth is filled with thy riches.

    2. So is this great sea, which stretcheth wide its arms: * there are creeping things without number:

    3. Creatures little and great. * There the ships shall go.

Capitulum Responsorium Versus

Sir 44:20; 44:22

Non est invéntus símilis illi, qui conserváret legem Excélsi: † ídeo iureiurándo fecit illum Dóminus créscere in plebem suam.

There was not found the like to him in glory, who kept the law of the most High, and was in covenant with him. Therefore by an oath he gave him glory in his posterity, that he should increase in his people.

Auxílium tuum nobis, Dómine, quǽsumus; placátus impénde: † et, intercessióne beáti Ubáldi Confessóris tui atque Pontíficis, contra omnes diáboli nequítias déxteram super nos tuæ propitiatiónis exténde.
Per Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum: † qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus, * per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.

Graciously help us, we beseech thee, O Lord, and at the petition of thy blessed Confessor and Bishop Ubald, stretch forth the right hand of thy mercy to shield us against all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
