Deliver my soul, O Lord, save me for thy mercy's sake.

Lord, rebuke me not in thy indignation, * nor chastise me in thy wrath.

  1. Miserére mei, Dómine, quóniam infírmus sum: * sana me, Dómine, quóniam conturbáta sunt ossa mea.

    2. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak: * heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.

  2. Et ánima mea turbáta est valde: * sed tu, Dómine, úsquequo?

    3. And my soul is troubled exceedingly: * but thou, O Lord, how long?

  3. Convértere, Dómine, et éripe ánimam meam: * salvum me fac propter misericórdiam tuam.

    4. Turn to me, O Lord, and deliver my soul: * O save me for thy mercy’s sake.

O Lord my God, in thee have I put my trust: * save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.

    2. Lest at any time he seize upon my soul like a lion, * while there is no one to redeem me, nor to save.

    8. And for their sakes return thou on high. * The Lord judgeth the people.

    9. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, * and according to my innocence in me.

  9. Consumétur nequítia peccatórum, et díriges justum, * scrutans corda et renes Deus.

    10. The wickedness of sinners shall be brought to nought: and thou shalt direct the just: * the searcher of hearts and reins is God.

Visit, we beseech thee, O Lord, this dwelling, and drive far from it the snares of the enemy; let thy holy angels dwell herein to preserve us in peace, and let thy blessing be always upon us.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.

Grant, O merciful God, to our weak natures thy protection, that we who commemorate the holy Mother of God may, by the help of her intercession, arise from our iniquities. Through the same Christ our Lord.
