The Apostles spoke in diverse tongues * the wonderful works of God, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

(Phe) Thy testimonies are wonderful: * therefore my soul hath sought them.

  1. Declarátio sermónum tuórum illúminat: * et intelléctum dat párvulis.

    2. The declaration of thy words giveth light: * and giveth understanding to little ones.

  2. Os meum apérui, et attráxi spíritum: * quia mandáta tua desiderábam.

    3. I opened my mouth, and panted: * because I longed for thy commandments.

  3. Aspice in me, et miserére mei: * secúndum judícium diligéntium nomen tuum.

    4. Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me, * according to the judgment of them that love thy name.

    2. I cried unto thee, save me: * that I may keep thy commandments.

  2. Prævéni in maturitáte, et clamávi: * quia in verba tua supersperávi.

    3. I prevented the dawning of the day, and cried: * because in thy words I very much hoped.

  3. Prævenérunt óculi mei ad te dilúculo: * ut meditárer elóquia tua.

    4. My eyes to thee have prevented the morning: * that I might meditate on thy words.

  4. Vocem meam audi secúndum misericórdiam tuam, Dómine: * et secúndum judícium tuum vivífica me.

Act. 2:11

Iudǽi quoque et Prosélyti, Cretes et Arabes: † audívimus eos loquéntes nostris linguis magnália Dei.

Jews also, and Proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Orémus.

Deus, qui hodiérna die corda fidélium Sancti Spíritus illustratióne docuísti: † da nobis in eódem Spíritu recta sápere; * et de eius semper consolatióne gaudére.
Per Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum: † qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte eiúsdem Spíritus Sancti, Deus, per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.

O God, Who on this day didst teach the hearts of thy faithful people, by the sending to them the light of thine Holy Spirit, grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
