Save me, O God, by thy name, * and judge me in thy strength.

  1. Deus, exáudi oratiónem meam: * áuribus pércipe verba oris mei.

    2. O God, hear my prayer: * give ear to the words of my mouth.

  2. Quóniam aliéni insurrexérunt advérsum me, † et fortes quæsiérunt ánimam meam: * et non proposuérunt Deum ante conspéctum suum.

    3. For strangers have risen up against me; and the mighty have sought after my soul: * and they have not set God before their eyes.

  3. Ecce enim Deus ádjuvat me: * et Dóminus suscéptor est ánimæ meæ.

    4. For behold God is my helper: * and the Lord is the protector of my soul.

  4. Avérte mala inimícis meis: * et in veritáte tua dispérde illos.

    5. Turn back the evils upon my enemies; * and cut them off in thy truth.

    2. Blessed are they that search his testimonies: * that seek him with their whole heart.

  2. Non enim qui operántur iniquitátem, * in viis ejus ambulavérunt.

    3. For they that work iniquity, * have not walked in his ways.

  3. Tu mandásti * mandáta tua custodíri nimis.

    4. Thou hast commanded * thy commandments to be kept most diligently.

    7. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, * when I shall have learned the judgments of thy justice.

    8. I will keep thy justifications: * O! do not thou utterly forsake me.

  8. In quo córrigit adolescéntior viam suam? * in custodiéndo sermónes tuos.

    16. I will think of thy justifications: * I will not forget thy words.

Dómine Deus omnípotens, qui ad princípium huius diéi nos perveníre fecísti: † tua nos hódie salva virtúte; * ut in hac die ad nullum declinémus peccátum, sed semper ad tuam iustítiam faciéndam nostra procédant elóquia, dirigántur cogitatiónes et ópera.

O Lord, our heavenly Father, Almighty and everlasting God, who has safely brought us to the beginning of this day: defend us by thy mighty power; and grant that this day we fall into no sin, but that all our doings may be ordered by thy governance, to do always what is righteous in thy sight.
Through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
