1. O God of truth, O Lord of might, Who orderest time and change aright, Who send’st the early morning ray, And light’st the glow of perfect day: 2. Psalmus 83 (2,8)

How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! * my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord.

    2. My heart and my flesh * have rejoiced in the living God.

Act. 1:4-5

Et convéscens, præcépit eis, ab Ierosólymis ne discéderent, sed exspectárent promissiónem Patris, quam audístis (inquit) per os meum: quia Ioánnes quidem baptizávit aqua, vos autem baptizabímini Spíritu Sancto non post multos hos dies.

And eating together with them, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but should wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard (saith he) by my mouth. For John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence.

Per eúndem Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum Fílium tuum, qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus, * per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.

Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that just as we do believe thine Only-Begotten Son, our Saviour, to have this day ascended into the heavens, so we may also in heart and mind thither ascend, and with Him continually dwell.
Through the same Jesus Christ, thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
