Whosoever shall call * on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The Lord said to my Lord: * Sit thou at my right hand:

  1. Donec ponam inimícos tuos, * scabéllum pedum tuórum.

    2. Until I make thy enemies * thy footstool.

  2. Virgam virtútis tuæ emíttet Dóminus ex Sion: * domináre in médio inimicórum tuórum.

    3. The Lord will send forth the sceptre of thy power out of Sion: * rule thou in the midst of thy enemies.

  3. Tecum princípium in die virtútis tuæ in splendóribus sanctórum: * ex útero ante lucíferum génui te.

    4. With thee is the principality in the day of thy strength: in the brightness of the saints: * from the womb before the day star I begot thee.

  4. Jurávit Dóminus, et non pœnitébit eum: * Tu es sacérdos in ætérnum secúndum órdinem Melchísedech.

    5. The Lord hath sworn, and he will not repent: * Thou art a priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech.

    6. The Lord at thy right hand * hath broken kings in the day of his wrath.

Psalmus 110

Holy and terrible * is His Name; the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; * in the council of the just, and in the congregation.

  1. Magna ópera Dómini: * exquisíta in omnes voluntátes ejus.

    2. Great are the works of the Lord: * sought out according to all his wills.

    6. That he may give them the inheritance of the Gentiles: * the works of his hands are truth and judgment.

  6. Fidélia ómnia mandáta ejus: † confirmáta in sǽculum sǽculi, * facta in veritáte et æquitáte.

    7. All his commandments are faithful: confirmed for ever and ever, * made in truth and equity.

  7. Redemptiónem misit pópulo suo: * mandávit in ætérnum testaméntum suum.

    8. He hath sent redemption to his people: * he hath commanded his covenant for ever.

Psalmus 111

Yet will I rejoice * in the Lord I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord: * he shall delight exceedingly in his commandments.

  1. Potens in terra erit semen ejus: * generátio rectórum benedicétur.

    2. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: * the generation of the righteous shall be blessed.

  2. Glória, et divítiæ in domo ejus: * et justítia ejus manet in sǽculum sǽculi.

    3. Glory and wealth shall be in his house: * and his justice remaineth for ever and ever.

  3. Exórtum est in ténebris lumen rectis: * miséricors, et miserátor, et justus.

    4. To the righteous a light is risen up in darkness: * he is merciful, and compassionate and just.

  4. Jucúndus homo qui miserétur et cómmodat, † dispónet sermónes suos in judício: * quia in ætérnum non commovébitur.

    5. Acceptable is the man that sheweth mercy and lendeth: he shall order his words with judgment: * because he shall not be moved for ever.

    6. The just shall be in everlasting remembrance: * he shall not fear the evil hearing.

    7. His heart is ready to hope in the Lord: his heart is strengthened, * he shall not be moved until he look over his enemies.

  7. Dispérsit, dedit paupéribus: † justítia ejus manet in sǽculum sǽculi, * cornu ejus exaltábitur in glória.

    8. He hath distributed, he hath given to the poor: his justice remaineth for ever and ever: * his horn shall be exalted in glory.

  8. Peccátor vidébit, et irascétur, † déntibus suis fremet et tabéscet: * desidérium peccatórum períbit.

    9. The wicked shall see, and shall be angry, he shall gnash with his teeth and pine away: * the desire of the wicked shall perish.

    2. I said in my excess: * Every man is a liar.

  2. Quid retríbuam Dómino, * pro ómnibus, quæ retríbuit mihi?

    3. What shall I render to the Lord, * for all the things that he hath rendered to me?

Phil 2:8-10

Fratres: Christus humiliávit semetípsum, factus obédiens usque ad mortem, mortem autem crucis. † Propter quod et Deus exaltávit illum, et donávit illi nomen, * quod est super omne nomen, ut in nómine Iesu omne genu flectátur.

He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross. For which cause God also hath exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above all names: That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

1. Jesu, the very thought of thee With sweetness fills my breast; But sweeter far thy face to see, And in thy presence rest. 2. Deus, qui unigénitum Fílium tuum constituísti humáni géneris Salvatórem, et Iesum vocári iussísti: † concéde propítius; ut, cuius sanctum nomen venerámur in terris, * eius quoque aspéctu perfruámur in cælis.
Per eúndem Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum Fílium tuum, qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus, * per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.

O God, Who hast appointed thine Only-begotten Son to be the Saviour of mankind, and hast commanded that His Name should be called Jesus, mercifully grant that we who here on earth do worship that most Holy Name may be made glad in heaven by His Presence.
Through the same Jesus Christ, thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
