I have loved, because the Lord will hear * the voice of my prayer.

  1. Quia inclinávit aurem suam mihi: * et in diébus meis invocábo.

    2. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: * and in my days I will call upon him.

  2. Circumdedérunt me dolóres mortis: * et perícula inférni invenérunt me.

    3. The sorrows of death have compassed me: * and the perils of hell have found me.

  3. Tribulatiónem et dolórem invéni: * et nomen Dómini invocávi.

    4. I met with trouble and sorrow: * and I called upon the name of the Lord.

  4. O Dómine, líbera ánimam meam: † miséricors Dóminus, et justus, * et Deus noster miserétur.

    5. O Lord, deliver my soul. * The Lord is merciful and just, and our God sheweth mercy.

    6. The Lord is the keeper of little ones: * I was humbled, and he delivered me.

I have believed, therefore have I spoken; * but I have been humbled exceedingly.

  2. Quid retríbuam Dómino, * pro ómnibus, quæ retríbuit mihi?

    3. What shall I render to the Lord, * for all the things that he hath rendered to me?

    4. I will take the chalice of salvation; * and I will call upon the name of the Lord.

    5. I will pay my vows to the Lord before all his people: * precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

In my trouble I cried to the Lord: * and he heard me.

I have lifted up my eyes to the mountains, * from whence help shall come to me.

    2. My help is from the Lord, * who made heaven and earth.

  2. Non det in commotiónem pedem tuum: * neque dormítet qui custódit te.

    3. May he not suffer thy foot to be moved: * neither let him slumber that keepeth thee.

  3. Ecce, non dormitábit neque dórmiet, * qui custódit Israël.

    4. Behold he shall neither slumber nor sleep, * that keepeth Israel.

  4. Dóminus custódit te, Dóminus protéctio tua, * super manum déxteram tuam.

Rom 6:9-10

Christus resúrgens ex mórtuis iam non móritur, † mors illi ultra non dominábitur. * Quod enim mórtuus est peccáto, mórtuus est semel: quod autem vivit, vivit Deo.

Knowing that Christ rising again from the dead, dieth now no more, death shall no more have dominion over him. For in that he died to sin, he died once; but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Orémus.

Deus, qui in Fílii tui humilitáte iacéntem mundum erexísti: † fidélibus tuis perpétuam concéde lætítiam; * ut, quos perpétuæ mortis eripuísti cásibus, gáudiis fácias pérfrui sempitérnis.
Per eúndem Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum Fílium tuum, qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus, * per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.

O God, Whose Son hath humbled Himself, and Who hast through Him raised up the whole world, grant to thy faithful people everlasting joy; and as Thou hast delivered them from the bitter pains of eternal death, make them to be glad for ever in thy presence.
Through the same Jesus Christ, thy Son, Our Lord, Who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end.
